Manitoba Hydro Power Smart Residential Loan is a unique program that allows you to borrow money to make energy effiency upgrades to your home.

Description

Get a convenient and affordable financing option if you want to make energy efficiency upgrades to your home.

The loan covers qualifying upgrades for:

  • windows and doors;
  • residential space heating equipment;
  • insulation;
  • checkair leakage sealing;
  • checkventilation;
  • checkresidential water heating equipment;
  • checkelectric vehicle chargers.

Renovations must meet detailed specifications.

The maximum loan is $7,500, of which up to $5,500 can be applied toward the purchase of a high efficiency natural gas furnace. and the minimum is $500. The maximum term is 5 years. If the loan (or part of the loan) is for a high efficiency natural gas furnace, that portion has a maximum term of 15 years. The annual fixed interest rate is 4.8% for the first 60 months. No down payment is required. Monthly installments are included on the customer’s energy bill.

Your contractor or retailer will work with you to determine if your project is eligible for financing and will help you complete the loan application.

    lots of great info on the power smart program and all it’s features. But try and find a phone number to contact, to get an application. Had to sift through a lot of repetive info on a lot of diffrent pges. Finally got lucky and hit this sight which states CLEARLY what number to call. WHEW !!!!!

    I don,t think 6.5% interest is a good deal for the average homeowner.Nothing reduced there.
