Kitchener Utilities Furnace Rebate Program

Province/Territory: Ontario (Kitchener)

Rebate Amount: Up to $200 per home

Description: Get up to $200 in rebates when you upgrade your home heating system.

How much you get in rebates depends on what kind of heating system you're converting from, as well as what kind of heating system you're converting to:

  • $200 when converting a system using a fuel other than natural gas to an ENERGY STAR® qualified high efficiency natural gas furnace/boiler
  • $150 when upgrading a conventional natural gas furnace/boiler to an ENERGY STAR qualified high efficiency natural gas furnace/boiler
  • $150 when converting a system using a fuel other than natural gas to a mid-efficiency natural gas furnace/boiler
  • $100 when upgrading a mid-efficiency natural gas furnace/boiler to an ENERGY STAR qualified high efficiency natural gas furnace/boiler
  • $100 when upgrading a conventional natural gas furnace/boiler to an ENERGY STAR qualified mid-efficiency natural gas furnace/boiler
  • In every case a programmable thermostat must also be installed to earn the rebate. Qualifying furnaces must have been installed after April 2006.

Steps to Get This Rebate:

  1. Call 519-741-2626 to get the application.
  2. Rebates will be applied to your Kitchener Utilities account approximately six to eight weeks after your application is approved.
