Residential Adaptation Assistance Program

Amount:

up to $33,000

Who is Eligible:

People with disabilities

Description:

The residential adaptation assistance program (RAAP), financed by the government of Québec, is designed to help people with disabilities to pay the cost of work needed to adapt their homes and make them accessible.

Steps to Get this Rebate:

1. Applicant must first call its SCCC (CLSC) or the city at 514-872-4630 to check their eligibility for financial assistance. If eligible, the applicant must then obtain a “Program Application Form” at a SCCC (CLSC) or the SHQ
2. When it is the time to process the application, the SHQ sends written notification to the health institution responsible for producing the occupational therapist’s report, and to the city. The city then puts together a file of the eligible work, based on the occupational therapist’s report, and establishes the amount of financial assistance required.
3. Once the file is complete, the city approves it and authorizes the applicant to begin the work. The work must be completed within 12 months from the approval date of the financial assistance.
4. The financial assistance is paid in full to the homeowner when the work has been completed and the city has checked to ensure that it has been carried out as agreed.

When the Rebate Ends:
