Manitoba Hydro Power Smart for New Homes

up to $12,000

Who is Eligible:

Homeowner

Description:

The program offers financial incentives and energy design assistance for the construction of new energy efficient homes. To be eligible, the home must be at least 20 per cent more energy efficient than a conventional new home. 

Steps to Get this Rebate:

1. Before the start of construction, commercial builders or individuals building their own home should decide which application path to apply under.
A. Prescriptive Path
-Performance Path applicants must conduct any energy modelling or energy design before submitting an application.
-Download the appropriate application:
Prescriptive Path Application (PDF, 201 KB);
Performance Path Application (PDF, 196 KB).
-Once the home is complete, download and submit the appropriate Completion Declaration. We will schedule an evaluation to certify the home.
Prescriptive Path Completion Declaration (PDF, 141 KB);
Performance Path Completion Declaration (PDF, 122 KB).
B. Builders
-Multi-unit buildings are eligible for an incentive for each household unit or suite.
-If every home you build meets Power Smart standards, you can also apply to become a Power Smart Preferred Builder. Contact us for more information.
C. Power Smart Preferred Builders
-If you are interested in having a Power Smart home built, the following builders have made a commitment to meet Power Smart standards on all of their new homes (under the Prescriptive Path, the Performance Path, or a combination of both).
D. Premium refund available from CMHC
