Enbridge Home Energy Conservation Program

Enbridge Home Energy-Conservation-Program-

The Enbridge Gas Home Energy Conservation Program is designed to make it easier and more affordable for residents of territories in the program delivery area to conserve energy.

By introducing incentives for different energy upgrades within the home, Enbridge helps customers improve their home energy efficiency while reducing their annual utility bills.

To qualify for these incentives, a property owner will have to execute a minimum of two home upgrades, working with a Registered Energy Advisor. Results are measured you have when completed the suggested upgrades.

Home Eligibility

Eligibility

You must fulfill the following requirements to qualify for the Enbridge Home Energy Conservation Program:

Your advisor will pin-point the most suitable home improvements and arrange for the necessary upgrades.

Complete at least two of these upgrades.

Insulating the Basement

  • Get up to $500 when you add at least R10 insulation to an entire crawl space wall
  • Get up to $500 when you add at least R24 insulation to the whole floor above a crawl space
  • Get up to $750 when you add at least R12 insulation to the entire basement space
  • Get up to $1000 when you add at least R23 insulation to an entire crawl space wall
  • Get up to $1250 when you add at least R23 insulation to the entire basement space.

Insulating the Exterior Walls

  • Get up to $1750 when you add a minimum of R9 insulation to meet the minimum requirement of R12 for the entire building
  • Get up to $1250 when you add a minimum of R3.8 insulation to reach the minimum requirement of R12 for the entire building

Insulating the Attic

  • Get up to $250 when you increase the insulation in your home’s attic from R13 – R25 to at least R50
  • Get up to $500 when you increase the insulation in your home’s attic from less than or equal to R12 to at least R50
  • Get up to $500 when you increase the flat roof or cathedral insulation in your home by at least R14

Air Sealing

  • Reaching the minimal requirement – $100
  • Exceeding the minimal requirement by at least 10% – $150

Note that:

  • each rebate noted above is pro-rated based on the percentage of insulated area
  • rebates for semi-detached houses will be calculated at 75% of the amounts shown
  • the total amount receivable for crawl space and basement space upgrades is $1,250
  • the total amount receivable for attic/flat roof/cathedral ceiling combination upgrades is $500

grant seniors

To Participate

Eligible seniors can apply for this grant while filing their personal income tax return. You may qualify for the grant even if you don’t have any income to report.

  • the residence must be a row townhouse, semi-detached house or detached house.
  • you must complete a minimum of two eligible defined renovations/upgrades
  • the heating source for the participating home must be either propane, oil, natural gas, wood, or electricity
  • your home must be situated with the program’s delivery area
  • the energy usage within your home must assessed prior to and after all upgrades

Note: Enbridge will facilitate your payments within 6-8 weeks after they receive your final energy audit.

For customers who use natural gas, the rebates will be posted on your bill and right after your billing cycle, the cheque is issued. As soon as there is a posting on your bill, the cheque should follow through shortly.

Important Information

This program is provided for eligible homeowners in the Enbridge Program Delivery Area who use natural gas, propane, electricity, oil or wood as their heating source.
