Efficiency PEI Heat Pump Rebate Program

There are a handful of excellent Efficiency PEI rebates that can help you save money and protect the environment, like the Efficiency PEI heat pump rebate. Check out how you can get up to $3,400 with this generous government incentive.

Certain Conditions Apply. Must be ENERGY STAR® rated.

PEI Heat Pump Rebate is an incentive program available to any property owners looking to reduce their electric and utility bill.

The following are required to apply:

  • 1Confirm that you are eligible (check the terms and conditions)
  • 2Fill out the application form completely as incomplete information will delay or disqualify
  • 3Put all the dated sales receipts together that shows where the unit was bought along with the make and model numbers of the one installed;
  • 4Send the rebate request with unique duplicates of dated receipt(s) and your latest Maritime Electric Bill to efficiencyPEI.

Please ensure the following before mailing:

  • Original dated sales receipt are marked paid in full and signed by a contractor
  • Electric bill or the Utility statement is showing consumption history for the last 12 months
  • Original GST statement is included if household income is below $35,000/year
  • Rental agreement is included if the property is used as a rental.
  • Vendor Information must be complete with banking info or voided check.

Before proceeding with the installation, PEI residents should consider the overall efficiency and potential savings from the equipment as well as evaluate different brands.

In addition, you should also check the warranty and reliability information of the equipment as it can be quite expensive.

Finally, you should pick the right contractor who can install the equipment adequately and help apply for the rebate.

Under Efficiency PEI, the following programs are also available besides Heat Pump Rebate.

Building Envelope Upgrade Rebate

Rebate for installing insulation, energy efficient windows and doors as well as improving air sealing

Commercial Energy Audit Program

Up to $1,000 financial incentives towards evaluating a commercial property for any potential energy efficiency upgrade

Equipment Upgrade Rebate

Rebates for installing ENERGY STAR ® energy saving products

Home Energy Audit Program

Subsidize Energuide home evaluation cost by $150. Additional subsidies might be available should the homeowner choose to proceed with the upgrade after the audit

Home Energy Low-Income Program (HELP)

Low Income clients are eligible to receive comprehensive air-sealing by a HELP tradesperson

New Home Construction Program

Programs to help residents make their new homes more energy efficient
