  • In working condition (capable of cooling);

Qualifying businesses can get up to $1,000 worth inenergy-efficient lighting and equipment upgrades. Funding of up to $1,000 is provided for new energy-efficient lighting and equipment otherwise known as a retrofit (including the cost of materials and labour).

An appointment will be made for a licensed electrical contractor to come and complete the retrofit. There may be opportunities for further energy efficiency retrofits above the $1,000 allowance.

Manitoba Geothermal Energy Incentive Program

Installations through a tax credit that increased as of April 13, 2011 and through Provincial Grants that were enhanced as of July 1, 2011 as outlined below:

Existing & New Homes: Manitobans can now receive up to approximately $5,000 of incentives from the Province of Manitoba including a Green Energy Equipment Tax Credit worth about $2,400 and a $2,600 Grant for homes in natural gas service areas.

Commercial Buildings: Owners eligible to receive up to 15 per cent of the value of their installed geothermal systems.

District / Community Geothermal Systems that serve several buildings are eligible for a Provincial Grant up to a maximum of $150,000; and can also receive refundable tax credits up to 15%.

Manitobaheat pump manufacturers can receive up to 7.5 per cent of the price for qualifying heat pumps made and sold for use in the province.

Enbridge – Ozone Laundry

Description of Program

An ozone laundry system is a piece of equipment that is added on to your existing commercial washing machine(s).

The system generates ozone (O3), a naturally occurring molecule, which helps clean fabrics by chemically reacting with soils in the water.

Because it works with cold water, an ozone laundry system will reduce the amount of hot water needed and therefore reduce your natural gas costs.

An ozone system also reduces the total amount of water consumed saving you even more energy.

You could qualify for $1000′s in incentives by installing an ozone laundry system in your facility. Complete and sign the Application Form and send it along with proof of purchase.

You could receive an audit incentive of up to $5,000 per building or $15,000 for a group of buildings from the commercial audit program.

Energy Efficient Rebate for New Homes

Description of Program

SaskEnergy, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment, is offering an Energy Efficient Rebate for New Homes.

The program provides incentives toSaskatchewanresidents who purchase or build a newly constructed energy efficient home after April 1, 2007 that is either ENERGY STAR qualified, R-2000 certified or has an EnerGuide for New Homes rating of 80 or above.

 

Rebates include:

  • $1,000 for the purchase of a home that is ENERGY STAR qualified, R-2000 certified or has an EnerGuide for New Homes rating of 80 or above, plus
  • $1,000 rebate for the purchase and installation of a solar domestic hot water heating system that is certified to the CAN/CSA F379 standard and provides a minimum energy contribution of 6 GJ/yr.
  • $3,500 for the installation of a CAN/CSA-C448 compliant Geothermal System.

 

  • $150 for the installation of a drain water heat recovery system, and/or
  • $100 for the installation of one qualifying natural gas appliance or $250 for two qualifying natural gas appliances. Qualifying natural gas appliances include clothes dryers, barbecues, cooktops, and ranges.
