I was in a very serious car accident, I have had to move in with my daughter my husbusd & I broke up now of 30 years he is having dificult time with my accident, and got an accition problem that I can't help him with. I lost everything, my home money my dog, he took or lost it all. I'm disabled now, I have part amputation on left hand damage to my shoulder, I have to have surgery on right shoulder, just had surgery on lower spine. I can not lift anything heavy, full back & left leg & foot damage. So my daughtert & son-in-law had me move here. My daughter built a bedroom & computer room down stairs i can use right had to type. For there is only 1 bathroom up stairs & with my accident sometime it is difficult to wait, my daughter & son in law want to put a bathroom & living area for me down here But used all of money with what they have done. I am on disablity not alot of money, no support from husband. I was trying to find a program that assiste in this area, RRAP said a full kitchen & walk out has to be made. I told them I can not cook I have an amputation & lost all strngth in my arms, I was order by the O/T not to lift anything heavier than a cookie sheet.They said because of my disability for not needing a kitchen we do not gualify & there must be a walk out from basement. I called another place for grants they said they don't give grants to up grade a home in value. I told them it not for that purpose, it for me to make me feel comfortable, I have cronic pain & have a bathroom for my needs right here in stead of having to go up & down the stairs. I have to wait when sometimes that just can't happen. So they turned me down.I told them I don't want more money for building it less money they still said no. Would you know of some program or grant that will help with diability and the things I need? If I had or my daughter had the money we would build a bathroom with a stand up shower for my chair & living space for my needs to avoid stairs for my cronic pain, but we don't Any suggestion would be appreciated.
