Saskatchewan Sales Tax Exemption for New Energy-Efficient Household Appliances

Rebate Amount: 7% of the purchase price

Description: Don't pay the 7% provincial sales tax on new ENERGY STAR qualified freezers, refrigerators, dishwashers and clothes washers.

The exemption also applies to new appliances leased for at least one year. Combined clothes washer/dryer units sold for a single price are exempt from 60% of the sales tax payable.

Appliances purchased (or leased for at least one year) between October 1, 2003 and March 31, 2005 are also eligible for a refund of the provincial sales tax paid.

Steps to Get This Rebate:

  1. Automatically receive the exemption at the time of purchase.
  2. If you bought your appliance before April 1, 2005, complete this form and submit it to:
