City of Calgary Rebates for Green Homes

Province/Territory: Alberta (Calgary)

Rebate Amount: Up to 30% of the cost of a building permit. (Assuming average building permit cost of $1,600 per home, the rebate could be up to $480 per home.)

Description: Homebuilders who achieve Built Green certification are eligible for a partial rebate on the cost of the building permit for the home. The value of the rebate depends on the level of certification achieved.

There are three categories of eligibility:
  • 30% rebate for Built Green Gold Certification
  • 20% rebate for Built Green Silver Certification
  • 10% rebate for Built Green Bronze Certification.

Steps to Get This Rebate:

  1. Upon meeting all permit and inspection requirements, rebates are issued to the building permit applicant.
