Residential Adaptation for Disabilities Program

up to $19,000 

Who is Eligible:

Low income homeowners

Description:

Homeowners with low income and landlords with tenants who have low incomes, may apply for financial assistance to make adaptations to homes and housing units. Eligible renovations and assistance include but are not limited to: installing handrails in hallways and stairways; changes to storage areas in the kitchen; bathroom and laundry room; installing lever handles on doors, sinks and Bathtubs; installing grab bars in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom; installing wheel chair ramps; widening entryways and interior doors; changing tubs, sinks, vanities and toilets; installing lift systems in bathrooms and bedrooms; changing floor covering; moving plumbing and electrical.
