Quebec Energy-Efficiency Community Program for Low-Income Households

Rebate Amount: Up to $610 per home

Description: Get free energy-saving advice and equipment if you’re a low-income household (to qualify you must pay your energy bills directly).

Energy-efficiency technicians make home visits lasting at least 90 minutes. During a visit, the technicians provide personalized advice on reducing energy consumption and install energy-saving devices including draft proofing and sealing materials, tap aerators and low-flow showerheads, and electronic thermostats (for homes heated exclusively with electric baseboard heating).

The program is offered in the following regions:

Abitibi-Temiscamingue, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Capitale-Nationale, Centre-du-Quebec, Chaudiere-Appalaches, Cote-Nord, Estrie, Gaspesie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Lanaudiere, Laurentides, Laval, Mauricie, Monteregie, Montreal, Nord-du-Quebec, Outaouais, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

To qualify, household income must be below the following thresholds (for Fall 2004, with maximum numbers of occupants in parentheses):
