We replaced all of the windows in our home last year and did not know about the energy rebate. Would we stll be eligible or has that "boat sailed" ? The old windows were original to the home about 30 years old. I still have the receipt for the new windows.
Thanks

Hi Jessica -

Your building should be eligible for funding through a federal government program called the ecoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings (a program for multi-unit apartment buildings).

The government website with information on the program says that you can get up $50,000 in grants, but it depends on what improvements are made to the building (which can include installing new windows).

Here's my advice:

(1) Call 1-877-360-5500 to speak with someone, and get the application forms.

(2) Check out the <a href="http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca/commercial/financial-assistance/existing/implementation.cfm?attr=20" rel="nofollow">Retrofit for Buildings Incentive </a>website for information on the program.

Hope this helps.

my name is jessica and i live at evangeline coop in wolfville, nova scotia. this is low income housing and contains 27 units. we are in desprate need of new windows. we have replaced some of them through a company that is no longer in buisness. the windows that were replaced by this company wich was 2yrs ago have already started to break do to manufactures deffect. this has only been a couple of windows that were replaced. the old windows have been here since 1988 and have been rotting for a long time. there has been an extreme difference in the price of all the units power bills. it is getting harder and harder to heat do to majoir drafts. in short we are looking for a little help on saving energy and keeping our children warm. if you have any ideas or suggestions our can offer help yourself it would be much appreciated.
