i was wondering if there are any grants for removal and installation of new insulation in the home i will purchase. The home iam thinking of buying has vermiculite in the attic, and i know it is very expensive to have it removed, so my question is does the government have a program or a grant to help remove this hazardous insulation, i have read the reports back in the 70’s and 80’s when the government was giving grants to install this harmful stuff in your home, now does the government have a grant to fix this problem…if so where do i look for this? And if not, can you explain why not?

Hello, My husband had a stroke last january and we are also raising our 2 grand childern. We are living on a fixed income and need to know how or where there is a home improvement grant or forgivable loan, as we need new windows and siding on our home as we are losing to much energy and its very cold in our home.We can not save any money as we just make enough to live. Hi,we did alot of work on our house last year (2008) new sideing with 1″ insulation and new windows at a cost of around $20,000
My question is if we would be covered under this grant?
