Description of Program

Qualifying businesses can get up to $1,000 worth in energy-efficient lighting and equipment upgrades. Funding of up to $1,000 is provided for new energy-efficient lighting and equipment otherwise known as a retrofit (including the cost of materials and labour).

An appointment will be made for a licensed electrical contractor to come and complete the retrofit. There may be opportunities for further energy efficiency retrofits above the $1,000 allowance.

Further incentives apply beyond the $1,000 in upgrades. Speak to your local electric utility representative for more information.

Description of Program

A comprehensive evaluation of your building’s energy performance will determine opportunities for improvement. These options for maximizing energy savings will form the basis of an action plan.

The AUDIT FUNDING incentive is intended to cover up to 50% of the cost of an energy audit, based on requirements that take into account the size and complexity of the buildings.

The energy audits must be completed by a third party with the following qualifications:

A professional engineer (PEng.), a certified engineering technologist (CET), a certified energy manager or a certified measurement and verification professional, who has at least three years of relevant experience evaluating energy systems in building or An engineer-in-training under the supervision of a PEng. or CET only if a qualified and experienced person as described above certifies and signs the Audit Report.

The HIGH PERFORMANCE NEW CONSTRUCTION program supports up to 100% of the cost of modelling a building (up to $10,000) for the building owner.

• Assessment and Engineering Analysis Incentives:

We’ll cover half the cost of a comprehensive energy assessment, up to $10,000*.

• Implementation Incentives:

Receive up to $100,000* per project to help you implement energy-saving measures. If you implement measures, you could receive $0.08per m³ of natural gas saved in the first year after installation. Your project must have a simple payback of at least one year to qualify, and no longer than a 5 year simple payback.

An HVAC energy assessment is a good way to identify opportunities for your plant to save on fuel costs. As an incentive, half the cost of your assessment will be paid, up to a maximum of $10,000*.And If you install energy efficient measures, you can receive $0.10 per m³ of natural gas saved up to a maximum of $100,000* per project.
