Steps to Get This Rebate:

1. Have an ecoENERGY Retrofit energy evaluation done. This evaluation must be done by an accredited energy advisor. Find an advisor in your area here.
2. Once you receive the energy evaluation report, look at the rebate guide to see how much money you can get back for the recommended home improvements.
3. Do the home improvements.
4. Get another energy evaluation done, to see how much more energy efficient your house is.
5. The energy advisor will send your final energy evaluation to Natural Resources Canada (the government department that runs the ecoENERGY Retrofit program).
6. Natural Resources Canada will send you a rebate cheque.

Description:
Get a $2000 rebate on the installation of a high-efficiency furnace if you are a low-income household that has qualified for assistance through the Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP). Households must be within the City of Edmonton.

The RRAP is a federal program that offers financial assistance to low-income households who own and occupy substandard housing to enable them to repair their dwellings to a minimum level of health and safety.

Steps to Get This Rebate:

1. (If you aren’t already registered with the RRAP) Contact the City of Edmonton Housing RRAP Coordinator at 780-496-6030.
2. Replace your furnace with an ENERGY STAR qualified furnace (that has a 92.0% annual fuel utilization efficiency or better, with a DC variable-speed motor
3. Your RRAP Officer (with City of Edmonton Housing) will forward the required paperwork if you qualify for a rebate.
4. A rebate cheque will be mailed directly to the address given in the application submitted by your RRAP Officer.

For houses that meet the “gold” standard for environmental achievement, homeowners will receive a rebate of $3,500.For houses that meet the “silver” standard for environmental achievement, homeowners will receive a rebate of $2,500.Environmental standards are based on the EnerGuide rating for houses, which takes into consideration energy efficiency and energy consumption in the home.

The value of the rebate depends on the level of certification achieved. There are four categories of eligibility:

Description:
Get $50 when you replace your old toilet with a new water-saving, low flush toilet. (Only residential metered customers are eligible for this rebate, and there’s a limit of three per household.)

Steps to Get This Rebate:

1. See if you qualify for the rebate. You qualify if you:

• Are a residential metered customer
• Buy an eligible 6 litre toilet (eligible toilets are here)
• Are replacing a toilet with a flush volume of 13 litres or more

2. Take out your current toilet.
3. Buy and install an eligible low flow model.
4. Make your old toilet unusable and take a picture.

Description:
Get a 10% discount on your Genworth mortgage insurance when you buy a home that has a EnerGuide rating of 77+ or R2000, or refinance your home to make energy-saving renovations. You?ll also get access to an online discount program for commonly purchased items.

Steps to Get This Rebate:

1. Either buy a home that is EnerGuide Rated 77+ or R2000, OR renovate your existing home to increase its EnerGuide rating by at least 5 points (to a minimum rating of 40).
2. Supply documentation certifying that your home meets the standards above:
   • If you’re purchasing a home, provide a copy of the first page of your EnerGuide evaluation report or R-2000 certification
